Don’t discuss yourself
Don’t discuss yourself, for you are bound to lose; if you belittle yourself, you are believed; if you praise yourself, you are disbelieved.

The tusks which clashed in mighty brawls
Of mastodons, are billiard balls.
The sword of Charlemagne the Just
Is Ferric Oxide, known as rust.
High above the housetops that look like Lego blocks,
The skyscrapers that seem to be toy buildings,
The people, like a busy ant colony
Moving to and fro about their daily business.
I am whirling, tossing, flipping,
Dipping, diving
From the west side
To the east side
Blowing over

I met Tu Fu on a mountaintop
in August when the sun was hot.
Under the shade of his big straw hat
his face was sad –
I sit with my tools. Assortment of brushes, canvasses, colours, apron, water, the works… I sit and I stare. Continously, at the blank canvas. Let me paint something. Oh please let me…
But the canvas is still blank. I can’t much move my hand. Can’t bring it to the canvas. Whats wrong with me? It feels as if im drowning in a sea of inability, in the throes of indifference. Im falling with the dead weight of a guilty More
The river looks beautiful today. The bright orange sun almost down the calm silver of the meaderer. I have twelve stones in my pocket.
I think, I sit on the bank and think.
Today…
It’s been exactly 485 days since I last fell out of love.
Plop. 11 stones in my pocket now.
It’s been exactly 379 days since I last touched him.
Plop. 10 in my pocket. Infinite plus two in the river bed.
It’s been exactly 341 More
From dusk to dawn,
From town to town,
Without a single clue,
I seek the tender, slender foot
To fit this crystal shoe.

I know time is precious
for I am still young
and do not want to die
with my song not yet sung.
When I awake each morning
I try to start with a smile
and cherish each moment
to make life worthwhile.
…Everytime I tell him, he goes “yes, I know.”
….He hides when I try to catch a glimpse. He locks his gates when I try to enter. His mind is something I have spent years fruitlessly trying to explore. There is so much I want to show him, so much left unsaid. Yet I feel unable to show him what he means to me. He was once a star in the sky that I aimed for, to be lost and found again. But there’s so much more to show, to feel, to know. I’m afraid of the consequences, and so I hold back. If only he’d understand…..
Sometimes life does catch you unaware. There you are, walking along on your own accord and somebody comes… lights a fire in the lonely rusted fireplace of your heart… and as the chimney once again start puffing out smoke, the ornate gardens bloom.
You see the buds turning to flowers in a bit… and your days become full of smiles…
How is it that you love someone so much that its impossible More
Happy Valentine’s Day and all.
On this V-day I remember my last year’s V-day. Last year in Febuary I took a trip to a small town in East Africa. Well I have this eccentric friend of mine, Ishan, and he has this crazy young uncle who deals in some leather stuff export business. So what happens is Ishan and me have nothing to do like kites in the rainy season. More
And I just sat there taking in the scenery as it passed me by. The constant blaring of the ear-splitting horn of this Maruti van, not much contrasting to the scene outisde the windows of this car.
She dwelt among the untrodden ways
Beside the springs of Dove–
A maid whom there were none to praise
And very few to love;
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

Life, is not what it was yesterday. The people I knew and cared about, just memories now of a life of high being, the life I cherished.
Gone are the places, gone are the faces.
Gone are my habits, gone is my home.
