No Flies On Frank

Posted in Short stories by Kunal Goel

There were no flies on Frank that morning - after all why not ? He was a responsible citizen with a wife and child, wasn’t he? It was a typical Frank morning and with an agility that defies description he leapt into the barthroom onto the scales. To his great harold he dis-covered he was twelve inches more tall heavy! He couldn’t believe it and his blood raised to his head causing a mighty red colouring.
‘I carn’t not believe this incredible fact of truth about my very body which has not gained fat since mother begat me at childburn. Yea, though I wart through the valet of thy shadowy hut I will feed no norman. What grate qualmsy hath taken me thus into such a fatty hardbuckle.’

The Door

Posted in Short stories by Kunal Goel

I turned sharply and saw the door half-open. I stared. I always, always took care to close the door – I wasn’t allowed to lock it – as tightly as I could. Now there it stood, cutting across the emptiness of my room.
My room.
I own it and no one can trespass.
Except, now, the door was doing exactly that.

Posted in Ishan Dubey, Short stories by Ishan Dubey

Am I in love with him? I wouldn’t know.

Does he know? Yeah! I told him that day, didn’t I. But still he hasn’t called me yet. Is he already married. Might be, his clothes are always well-pressed and clean, nothing is improper. But then, that’s why I like him.

Oh my God! he is married too, might even have kids. No, he is too More

What’s a man gotta do?

Posted in Neha Jhingon, Short stories by Neha

And so the year began on a bitter note. She would just not listen to me anymore. Just won’t let me explain. Sits there watching me, red eyed. But wouldn’t hear something that would bring a smile to her lips.

I hate love. Did I ever tell you that? I have been with women. Of all kinds. All shapes and sizes. All colours. All ages. I once loved them. Loved them all. But there is only too much you can give out. And I hit rockbottom. Like I was gonna More

Is it too late?

Posted in Ishan Dubey, Short stories by Ishan Dubey

It was one of those annual events organised by Bombay Chartered Accountants’ Society. These events never fail to invoke a sense of deja vu in me, as if I’ve been through all this before. The same felicitations, the same speeches, the same speakers, the same client-solicitings, the same back-stabbings, the same plastic smiles, the same anger, the same joys, the same faces, the same everything. But this time More

She loves me a lot

Posted in Ishan Dubey, Short stories by Ishan Dubey

I could never trust myself with heights. Maya knew it very well. But still, when her boyfriend wanted to rent a flat of their own, she chose the top-most floor in some tall building having some talk-of-the-town neighbors.

High places have always scared me. They tend to corruptly use the powers, vested in them because of their status, against me. Maya is a real bitch. More

Small Talk

Posted in Neha Jhingon, Short stories by Neha

I sat on the corner where the road disappeared into dust, on the milestone that declared my destination to be still a good 150 kms away. My old and faithful car spat fumes at the bend. It was such a hot afternoon. I could see waves of heat rising from the road behind me. Up ahead was only dirt. My canteen was empty and my lips parched. Hating my decision to come, all I could do was pray that some idiont would drive to this god forsaken road.

But god ain’t my friend and so I sat. Waiting. I dont know how long it was. I am sure my watch didn’t work. It couldn’t have been twenty mintues since More
