Traveling through the Dark

Posted in Poems by Kunal Goel

Traveling through the dark I found a deer
dead on the edge of the Wilson River road.
It is usually best to roll them into the canyon:
that road is narrow; to swerve might make more dead.

By glow of the tail-light I stumbled back of the car
and stood by the heap, a doe, a recent killing;
she had stiffened already, almost cold.
I dragged her off; she was large in the belly.

Days of absence

Posted in Poems by Kunal Goel

Days of absence, sad and dreary,
Clothed in sorrow’s dark array, -
Days of absence, I am weary;
She I love is far away.

an artsy-fartsy poem

Posted in Poems by Kunal Goel

midnight chaos…
eternity chaos…
morning chaos, eternity chaos,
noon chaos, eternity chaos, evening chaos,
eternity chaos, midnight chaos, eternity chaos,
morning chaos, eternity chaos, noon chaos–
evening chaos, eternity chaos,
midnight chaos, eternity chaos…
morning chaos, eternity chaos,
noon chaos, eternity chaos,
evening chaos, eternity chaos…
midnight chaos, eternity chaos,
noon chaos, eternity chaos,
evening chaos, eternity chaos…
morning chaos, eternity chaos…

Why Won’t You Leave Me Be?

Posted in Neha Jhingon, Poems by Neha

The thought of you,
That refuses to leave me be
My being distorted by one truth
You… you, the biggest lie

I don’t know what this madness is
What is this insanity?
Even in my dreams,
I hear you calling out to me

Your voice, it echoes in my ears
Like a thousand silences
In every vein of my body
You run your poisonous course

Why wont you leave me be?
Why wont you leave me be?

Miss Teen USA 2007 - South Carolina answers a question

Posted in Poems by Kunal Goel

I personally believe that us americans
are unable to do so because osama.

People out there
in our nation
don’t have that,

And I believe that our education
like such as south africa and
such as the Iraq.

everywhere “such as”.

And I believe our education
should help the US
should help the south africa
and the iraq
and the asian countries
so we can build up
our future.

Gestalt prayer

Posted in Poems by Kunal Goel

I do my thing and you do your thing.
I am not in this world to live up to your expectations,
And you are not in this world to live up to mine.
You are you, and I am I, and if by chance we find each other, it’s beautiful.
If not, it can’t be helped.

फनकार

I am Like a Desert Owl, an Owl Among the Ruins

Posted in Poems by Kunal Goel

The alpha You. The omega You.
My grandmother’s ghost, its girlish snafu
Basking in the waters of urgency.

LIGHT

Posted in Mark, Poems by Mark

Castles of minutiae built upon a beam
Careen around the bones of black holes
There, these infinitely free spirits ride
Taming the fates of constellations

For men and motes are of the same matter
Ricochets and words; finer atoms evolved
From the curves and wars with space
Do the ancient castles run their race

Not paying heed to desire but only simple Will
They are beaten back to rubble for want of standing still
Caressing the abyss they know, in their final hour
That this tale was but a moment, for a lonely flower

Tattoo

Posted in Poems by Ishan Dubey

I could paint a poem
On your back
With a Chinese brush
And India ink.
And then, with a razor
Or pin or sliver of bamboo
And a stolen hotel towel
(to daub the blood
and excess black),
I could make it
Permanent.

The Duel

Posted in Mark, Poems by Mark

How naïve and toward does the lover
With an old torn hat borrow from incantations
To make himself a sinner from a bath;
A sign of a cross

Living backwards; the river lusting for the sea
(Tricked by evaporation and bird shit)
Only the smiles condense back to the source of her
But what does he see rushing down and down?

And the sea can only rise and fall with the moon
The only true love in the solar circles:
Gravity of mountains mixed with the mystery
Of stardust craters and rockets.

Egregious grass and metal flowers slice
Dice; dance and fall, living backwards,
Fighting time
. . . for a dime . . . to pine . . . to dine . . .

Possum Crossing

Posted in Poems by Kunal Goel

Backing out the driveway
the car lights cast an eerie glow
in the morning fog centering
on movement in the rain slick street

Hitting brakes I anticipate a squirrel or a cat or sometimes
a little raccoon
I once braked for a blind little mole who try though he did
could not escape the cat toying with his life

Lullaby

Posted in Poems by Kunal Goel

Lay your sleeping head, my love,
Human on my faithless arm;
Time and fevers burn away
Individual beauty from
Thoughtful children, and the grave
Proves the child ephemeral:
But in my arms till break of day
Let the living creature lie,
Mortal, guilty, but to me
The entirely beautiful.

सीखने की ज़िद मे
