William : There is no pride in losing…
Neha : You mean you’d rather not participate than lose?
William: Yes. Because when you lose, you lose your pride in front of millions.
Neha: And when you don’t play for the fear of losing, you don’t lose anything?
William: Yep.
Neha: Hahaha. Let me get this straight. Your statement tells me two things. First you are telling me that losing in front of millions of people humiliates you, but losing in private does not. And second, not participating for the fear of losing or let me say failure does not upset you… and would not mean that you have no pride whatsoever?
William: No. You’re getting me wrong. I meant to say that I’d rather not take a challenge that I’m not confident of pulling off.
Neha: Which means you’d never take on a risk?
William: That would be correct.
Neha: Have you seen snow?
William: No. Not really. It doesn’t snow in the Miami.
Neha: And you’ve never been to Aspen?
William: No.
Neha: Would you like to?
William: Sure.
Neha: But what if you catch a cold…? Isn’t that a risk? Or it is not too much of a risk?
William: I er…
Neha: Ok. Forget that. Tell me, would you go to a lady at a bar and ask if you could have a dance…?
William: Sure. If she is pretty.
Neha: Hahaha. Ok. Suppose you do that. And then she, in somewhat a loud voice, refuses. Would you never ask another lady to dance - until you were absolutely sure that she was taken in by you?
William: Umm…
Neha: Do you ever use a public toilet? Or shake hands with strangers?
William: Yes…
Neha: Thats a risk. Do you know that there are 1600 types of bacteria in a public toilet and that 80 percent of the people don’t wash their hands after they’ve been to the toilet?
William: Ah well, thats a risk I can take.
Neha: Hmm… do you know that you could catch diseases like ebola from shaking hands with some one who’s not washed hands after going to the toilet. Ebola is fatal… You can get hookworms, pappilomaviruses and hepatitis A from toilet seats. There are other diseases but
I am not even going to talk about it… How do you feel about the chalange now?
William: Er… I never knew all this.
Neha: I rest my case. And hey come on! Give yourself a break. Sometimes do things just for the heck of it. Most of the times when you’re worrying about public failures, people are not even regarding you with any remotest interest…!
William: Alright. You win… but really? Hepatitis A?
Neha: Haha… Naah I was just kidding with you. Wanted to see how long you would defend yourself!!!

Nice..But its not takes ‘pride’ to participate or taking risk..One should be courageous enough to face the consequences of failure
