Incomplete Poem
A painting of the crippled man
Hanging on my blue wall
A thick frame (and it’s costly too)
Covering four corners all.
The crippled man, he hangs so high,
In life he used to creep;
To look at him I sprain my neck,
I look and sometimes weep.
His eyes are blue, just like my wall,
Though crippled yet so strong
With those blue eyes he looks at me
All day and all night long.
(The thirteenth line is missing here)
A prisoner of blue eyes.
And when I look away from him,
Something inside me dies.
-Kunal Goel

I wrote this poem in common meter best used by Emily Dickinson.
common meter is a four line stanza, with two pairs of a line of iambic tetrameter followed by a line of iambic trimeter; the rhymes usually fall on the lines of trimeter.
