Farewell

Posted in Neha Jhingon, Thoughts by Neha

If I could hear you laugh just one more time before I left, I would keep warm on cold nights. I wonder where you are and what’s passing through your mind right at this moment. I’m wrapping up my small world that had almost begun to revolve around you and packing up to leave. This place was never meant for me, I know now.

I belong nowhere. Why on earth do I keep forgetting it? Your place is here. This is where you belong. Because it brings you pleasure. The smile on your lips, that I have come to love so much. Do not leave my dearest, stay. For this is your haven. I came wandering here and saw you. To have seen you, is to have lived. Do not leave. Stay. Please.

I usually do not travel light. I like the walls to be covered with colours, this time though, I’ll keep bare walls. I’m leaving all my memories behind for you. I don’t know if they would be useful for you. I do not know if they would make you happy. But please don’t let them make you sad. Throw them away, burn them if you will. But please do not lose that smile from your face.

Do not worry about me. I would be fine. I always am. In my life, I have learnt to be strong. In my life, I have learnt to be happy. I will be just that. Happy. Because I’m so stubborn, I would not rest until I am either happy or lost. So you see, I have good chances of happiness.

But don’t leave stay. You like this pond. Dont you? I know you are for oceans. But stay. Because I am leaving…

but this is a beautiful piece, Neha. You can only ask the spring to stay as long as it can and spread its joy to as many people as it can.
