One last Time

He came knocking on my door at half past two in the morning. Parichay was in deep sleep so I slipped out. He looked good. As always.Smelling so vanilla. If only he had not got married 4 days ago. And I had not got married 2 years ago.

Its been almost two years since I last saw him. It was a different world then. We were young then. Today though it seems that he is a 100 years old. Though for me, time just stood still somehow.

All our whispered secrets, all the love made in the soft moonlight, all the glances exchanged, the hidden smiles, all the magic, all the passion flashed in front of my eyes.

Can’t say I’m not surprised to see him. Happy? Maybe a little. Ecstatic…? Yes, actually.

Just then little Alap cried out. I looked at him. His face distorted by the pain of the years. Lined by longing and undescribable desire. I back a little. And a little more, without ever taking my eyes off him. I back off until I was inside the threshold.

One last look. And I closed the door.
