Betrayal smells Jasmine
He’s not home yet. She glances at the grandfather clock that he loved so much. Ten past one. she sighs and walks up to his cupboard. Opens it. It smells strange. It’s her. She knows it. She walks over to the kitchen counter.
Tap… Tap… Tap… she taps to match beat with the ticking clock. The clock he loved. Somehow her conversations have become limited to these faint raps on the vinyl cover. She gets up again. Angry because the tick of the clock is arguing with her. Because seconds are passing too damn slow. Twelve past one…

Fourteen…
His car in the driveway. She lets out another sigh. She has fofgotton words. What was it that she was going to say…? Damn. If only she had recorded. Always record when you think. Always. She tells herself angrily. This time he is not going to escape.
Doorbell.
She opens the door. He is standing there grinning.
Does she think he is a good lover, or does he roll over to sleep after he’s through with her? Does he moan out her name when they are making love? Does he hate it if she claws at him. Shit.
