The Painter Boy

Posted in Figments, Neha Jhingon by Neha

You watch him fiddling with his brushes. Concentrating hard. He wants to get all on his canvas. And yet when he finshes, he knows there is more to be done.
You watch him from a distance. Wondering how he can give the words to the music in your head. Does he get into your head sometimes? Just to see how it works. How you work?
You see him painting with the colours of the sunflowers. You love sunflowers. And you wonder if in a conversation, you had ever told him that?

You wonder if it is you he is trying to take a likeness of. You wonder if these sunflowers are for you. He can sometimes leave you confused.
Your symphonies need his words. You wonder if he knows it.
His eclectic rhapsodies. You need them. To make your music into songs.

You sit with your veena, as he toys with his brush.

You sing as he paints.

You wonder as he creates.

You love as he lusts.

Your symphonies. Ah. they might only remain music without words…
